BHOOMIKA JAGGESHAR

FELLOW

Bhoomika holds a BA (Hons) in Law and Management from the University of Mauritius. She is currently a Service to Mauritius Intern at the Ministry of Finance, Government of Mauritius. She has published on Environmental Law, Climate Change Law and the SDGs. She is a member of the Rotaract Club of Helvetia. She will be pursuing her LLM in International Law in a few months.

KRISHNEE ADNARAIN APPADOO

FOUNDER AND CEO

Krishnee is a senior lecturer in Environmental Law and Policy at the University of Mauritius. She is a final year doctoral candidate with the University of Western Australia where her thesis focuses on the loss and damage principle. She sits on the board of several NGOs in Mauritius. She has work experience at the UN, in the private and public sector, as well as in NGOs. She has published extensively on environmental and climate change law, ocean policy, and the SDGs. She is a youth, mental health and climate activist.

SHABBIR ESMAEL

CHIEF STRATEGY OFFICER

Shabbir Shabbir is a Project Manager with Breakthrough Ocean Ventures where as part of a global team, he is designing projects to make oceans related industries (Tourism, Seafood, Marine Transportation) more sustainable using tools from the 4th Industrial Revolution. Shabbir is also a Founding Member of the global award winning project #SeeingBlue. Featured in Forbes Magazine, #SeeingBlue is building a strong community of young people to take ownership of the ocean and implement innovative projects to heal our oceans. In early 2016, he was awarded the Queens Young Leaders Award in the runner-up category by Buckingham Palace. World traveler with cultural exposure and experiences in more than 80 countries. Shabbir recently completed the challenge of walking half a marathon everyday for 1 year for our Oceans. His book What Walking Half A Marathon Everyday For One Year Teaches You is due to be published next year.
